Applications are now open for the U.S. Department of the Treasury Fall 2026 Internship Program, an exceptional opportunity for students interested in public service, finance, economics, policy, and national security.

Hosted by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and administered through USAJOBS, this internship offers current high school, undergraduate, and graduate students the chance to work directly with one of the most influential federal agencies in the United States.

About the Internship Program

The Treasury Departmental Offices Internship Program provides substantive assignments related to students’ academic interests and career goals. Interns work alongside experienced professionals on projects involving finance, public policy, economics, law, information technology, and government operations.

The Fall 2026 internship begins in September 2026 and requires a commitment of at least 20 hours per week for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks.

Eligibility Requirements

• Be a U.S. citizen
• Be currently enrolled at least half-time in an accredited high school, college, or graduate institution

• Be in good academic standing
• Be available to begin in September 2026
• Commit to at least 20 hours per week
• Complete a background investigation
• Work in person in Washington, DC
• Cover their own housing and relocation costs if selected

This is a volunteer (unpaid) internship.
