The Translator/Interpreter Consultant role at UN Women offers a valuable opportunity for experienced language professionals to contribute to humanitarian and gender equality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide both oral interpretation and written translation services between Arabic and English.
Deliver simultaneous interpretation during meetings, workshops, and events.
Support high-level engagements such as the Gender in Humanitarian Action Working Group and Women’s Advisory Group.
Translate key documents including reports, policy papers, and communication materials.
Ensure accurate and culturally appropriate communication.
Maintain high standards of confidentiality and accuracy in all work.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in translation, interpretation, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in translation and interpretation.
Full proficiency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
Strong editing, proofreading, and terminology management skills.
Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is an advantage.
Knowledge of gender equality and humanitarian terminology is preferred.
