The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has officially launched applications for its Digital, AI and Innovation Internship: Global Call for 2026, offering students and recent graduates from around the world an opportunity to gain practical experience in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, data governance, innovation, and sustainable development.
The internship is hosted by UNDP’s Digital, AI and Innovation (DAI) Hub, a global platform that supports countries in leveraging emerging technologies and innovative approaches to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The programme is fully remote, allowing successful candidates to contribute to international development initiatives from anywhere in the world.
As the development arm of the United Nations, UNDP works in more than 170 countries and territories to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges, including poverty, climate change, governance, inequality, and sustainable economic growth.
The Digital, AI and Innovation Hub serves as a central platform for advancing responsible digital transformation, artificial intelligence, systems innovation, and data-driven development solutions. Through this internship programme, participants will have the opportunity to collaborate with global teams while supporting innovative projects that strengthen institutions and improve public service delivery.
The internship start date is flexible, with applications being accepted on a rolling basis throughout 2026.
Selected interns may contribute to one or more of the following workstreams:
