Got a strong portfolio and a knack for turning complex reports into visuals people actually want to look at? UNEP’s Plastics Unit is looking for a graphic designer to join remotely for six months.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has opened a consultancy for a Graphic Design Consultant to support its Plastics Unit and it’s fully home-based, making it accessible to designers anywhere with a strong portfolio and the right skill set.
UNEP’s Industry and Economy Division (IED) works with governments, businesses, and partners to build cleaner, safer policies and practices. Within that division, the Plastics Unit leads UNEP’s global push toward a circular economy for plastics — coordinating projects, actions, and results aimed at tackling plastic pollution at scale.
To support that work, UNEP needs a designer who can turn technical and policy content into visuals that are clear, accurate, and consistent with UNEP’s corporate identity including the Plastic Reboot brand guidelines.
UNEP has laid out clear expected results for this consultancy:
UNEP is looking for someone with real, demonstrable design experience — not just formal training. You’ll need:
The UN does not charge fees at any stage of recruitment — application, interview, processing, or training — and does not ask applicants for bank account information. Keep this in mind if you encounter anyone claiming otherwise.
For designers who want their work to carry real character while supporting one of the world’s most visible environmental initiatives, this UNEP consultancy offers a rare combination: global impact, creative range, and full remote flexibility.
Application Deadline: July 30, 2026
Given the short window between posting and deadline, interested designers should get their application and portfolio ready as soon as possible.
