The UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education recognizes outstanding contributions to advancing girls’ and women’s education and gender equality. Two laureates are awarded USD 50,000 each annually.
Nominations are accepted from UNESCO Member States Governments and NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO. Each nominator can submit up to three nominations. Self-nominations are not permitted. Nominated projects must be operational for at least two years and demonstrate potential for replication and scalability.
USD 50,000 per laureate (two laureates annually).
Nominations must be submitted in English or French via an online platform accessible only to eligible nominators. For inquiries, contact GWEPrize@unesco.org.
