Overview

The United Nations Global Marketplace is seeking a qualified part-time Social Media Manager to support the International Labour Organization’s regional digital presence across Africa.

Key Responsibilities

Managing and maintaining ILO Africa’s social media accounts
Developing and executing content strategies aligned with organizational goals
Creating engaging, informative, and audience-specific digital content
Monitoring social media performance and analytics
Supporting digital campaigns and awareness initiatives
Ensuring consistency in messaging across platforms
Engaging with online audiences and stakeholders
Coordinating with internal teams to align communication outputs

Requirements

Strong experience in social media management and digital communications
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Ability to tailor content for diverse audiences across Africa
Familiarity with analytics tools and performance tracking
Knowledge of development issues, particularly within the African context
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Experience working with international organizations (advantage)
Understanding of labour, employment, or social policy issues (advantage)
Multilingual communication skills (advantage)
