The Federal College of Education, Jama’are, located in Jama’are, Bauchi State, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the positions of Provost, Bursar, and College Librarian. The College operates under the supervision of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), which is responsible for funding, policy, and regulatory oversight of all Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria. These appointments provide an opportunity for candidates to contribute to the academic, administrative, and financial leadership of the institution.
Positions and Responsibilities
Provost
The Provost serves as the Chief Executive, Administrative, and Accounting Officer of the College, responsible for the overall management, operations, and academic leadership. The Provost will implement policies laid down by the Governing Council, exercise authority over staff and students, and provide strategic and professional leadership for the College.
Bursar
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the College and is responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of financial affairs. Duties include planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of the College’s financial system and providing advice on financial matters as required by the Governing Council or Provost.
College Librarian
The College Librarian is responsible to the Provost for the administration of the College library and coordination of library services across academic departments. Duties include implementing library policies, liaising with departments regarding resources, preparing library budgets, and performing other responsibilities as directed by the Council or Provost.

All candidates must not be above 59 years of age at the time of taking up the appointment and must demonstrate vision, leadership, and integrity. Each candidate is required to submit a two-page vision statement outlining plans for the College over the next five years.
Tenure of Appointment:
All appointments are for a single term of five years from the effective date of appointment. Successful candidates will enjoy the privileges and benefits of principal officers of Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria.
