    Internship Overview

    • Position: Intern (Digital Communications)
    • Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
    • Duration: 8 Months
    • Eligibility: Open to Ethiopian nationals
    • Deadline: 30th March 2026

    Role Purpose

    Under the supervision of the communications team, the intern will support the creation of innovative, high-quality multimedia content targeted at key audiences such as donors, partners, government stakeholders, and beneficiaries.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Digital Communications Intern, you will:

    • Develop communication materials including social media content, stories, and visuals
    • Collect field content such as photos, testimonials, and quotes
    • Draft content for digital platforms under supervision
    • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging
    • Coordinate with designers, vendors, and printers
    • Support social media scheduling, monitoring, and reporting
    • Provide general administrative support for digital communications
    • Perform additional communication-related tasks as assigned

    Eligibility Criteria

    Applicants must meet one of the following conditions:

    • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (with at least 2 years completed)
    • Currently enrolled in a graduate program
    • Recent graduate (within 6 months) in communications, journalism, or a related field

    Additional requirements:

    • Fluency in English and Amharic (written and spoken)
    • Ability to work in Addis Ababa
    • Must not be an immediate family member of a WFP employee

    Required Skills and Competencies

    Ideal candidates should have:

    • Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Lightroom, Canva, and MS Office
    • Strong digital storytelling and content creation skills
    • Understanding of communication strategies and humanitarian contexts
    • A creative portfolio demonstrating attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and in diverse teams
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
