Overview
The Africa Coordinator plays a strategic role in advancing WINGS’ mission, focusing on strengthening networks and ecosystems in Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting initiatives related to:
- Policy and advocacy
- Climate action
- Locally led development
- Philanthropy transformation
- Coordinating the Africa Working Group
- Designing and delivering webinars, workshops, and in-person events
- Identifying and onboarding new members
- Facilitating cross-regional learning and partnerships
- Planning and implementing ecosystem-strengthening initiatives
- Identifying capacity-building needs within the sector
- Supporting sustainable and inclusive philanthropy infrastructure
- Capacity-building initiatives, knowledge production, communication efforts, and resource mobilization
- Developing and implementing project plans aligned with regional strategy
Requirements
- Based in an African country
- Fluency in English and French (Portuguese is a plus)
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience
- Proven experience in project or network coordination in nonprofit or philanthropy sectors
- Strong knowledge of civil society and philanthropy ecosystems
- Experience in fundraising, especially proposal writing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to travel (up to 15%)
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Benefits
- Compensation: USD 30,000 – 40,000 annually, based on experience and location
