    Overview

    The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is inviting applications for its Africa Program Summer 2026 Internship, a prestigious, full-time and paid opportunity based in Washington, D.C.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Managing and growing the program’s social media presence on platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter
    • Supporting the production and promotion of the “Into Africa” podcast series
    • Conducting research and compiling data into reports, summaries, and background papers
    • Assisting in event planning, including drafting invitations and preparing briefing materials
    • Monitoring developments and news across Sub-Saharan Africa
    • Maintaining stakeholder databases and contact lists
    • Providing administrative and logistical support to the research team

    Requirements

    • Pursuing or holding a degree in African Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, History, or related fields
    • Eligible to work in the United States
    • Available to commit to 35 hours per week
    • Experience using social media platforms professionally
    • Proficiency in tools such as Canva and Microsoft Office
    • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
    • Interest in African political, economic, and security issues

    Benefits

    • $18.00/hour for undergraduate students
    • $19.00/hour for bachelor’s degree holders
    • $20.00/hour for master’s degree holders
