Overview
The Agronomy Specialist will support agricultural research and innovation by designing and managing trials that improve farmer productivity, resilience, and livelihoods.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews, evidence assessments, and expert consultations to identify innovative agricultural solutions.
- Design and manage on-station and on-farm trials, including site selection, input planning, and distribution of materials.
- Analyze trial data using statistical tools such as STATA or R and develop impact models.
- Supervise field staff, conduct regular check-ins, and monitor performance indicators.
- Support staff development through mentoring, performance reviews, and training.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Livelihoods, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in project management; additional experience in agricultural research is an advantage.
- Proficiency in data analysis using STATA, R, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to live and work in rural areas and travel frequently to field locations.
- Open only to Nigerian citizens or permanent residents.
