Overview
The Marketing and Communications Intern will support the British Council Nigeria in creating, managing, and disseminating communication content across digital and offline channels. This role offers practical experience in communications and marketing within an international organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, upload, and manage content on social media platforms, responding to inquiries.
- Support the development of creative content strategies for increased reach and engagement.
- Assist with digital marketing campaigns across various channels.
- Evaluate digital marketing approaches and recommend improvements.
- Assist in developing written, visual, and multimedia content for outreach materials.
- Participate in research and data collection for marketing strategies.
- Support analysis of emerging marketing trends.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of promotional events and initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth execution of events and campaigns.
- Gain exposure to the British Council’s mission, operations, and impact in Nigeria.
- Develop practical experience in planning and implementing marketing campaigns, content creation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Receive mentorship and structured guidance from senior staff.

Requirements
- Recent graduate (within the last four years).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital marketing strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Genuine interest in digital marketing, communications, and youth engagement.
- (Desirable) Knowledge of current social media trends.
- (Desirable) Experience in creating web content, blogging, or video blogging.
- (Desirable) Familiarity with digital design tools, content management systems, or basic multimedia editing.
