Overview

The Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA), in partnership with the Blue Nature Alliance (BNA), is seeking research proposals focused on marine conservation finance in the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) region. This call aims to strengthen the understanding and practice of sustainable, resilient, and equitable long-term financing systems for marine conservation.

Eligibility

• Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs)
• Ongoing Master’s and PhD students enrolled in recognized institutions within the WIO region
• Individuals whose research aligns with strengthening marine conservation finance in the region

Proposals should be field-based and designed to generate actionable insights.

Benefits

Successful proposals will receive financial support for field-based research activities, including data collection, fieldwork, research materials, logistics, and stakeholder engagement.
