Overview

Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED) is seeking a Palestine Researcher to support data collection and analysis efforts on political violence and protest activity in the West Bank. This is a fully remote, entry-level consultancy opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Reviewing news reports, NGO publications, and international organization updates.
Identifying and recording incidents of political violence and protests.
Coding data into structured formats (primarily Excel templates).
Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of datasets.
Supporting quality control and data validation processes.
Collaborating with team members to maintain data reliability.

Requirements

Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Conflict Studies, Peacebuilding, International Development, or related fields.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (essential).
Fluency in English (required) and Arabic (required); knowledge of Hebrew (preferred).
Experience in desk-based research.
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Access to a reliable computer and internet connection.
Familiarity with conflict dynamics in the Middle East (advantage).
