    Overview

    Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED) is seeking a Palestine Researcher to support data collection and analysis efforts on political violence and protest activity in the West Bank. This is a fully remote, entry-level consultancy opportunity.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Reviewing news reports, NGO publications, and international organization updates.
    • Identifying and recording incidents of political violence and protests.
    • Coding data into structured formats (primarily Excel templates).
    • Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of datasets.
    • Supporting quality control and data validation processes.
    • Collaborating with team members to maintain data reliability.

    Requirements

    • Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Conflict Studies, Peacebuilding, International Development, or related fields.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (essential).
    • Fluency in English (required) and Arabic (required); knowledge of Hebrew (preferred).
    • Experience in desk-based research.
    • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
    • Access to a reliable computer and internet connection.
    • Familiarity with conflict dynamics in the Middle East (advantage).
