Overview
Bitpanda is an investment platform founded in 2014, headquartered in Austria and operating across Europe. The Associate role in the Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Compliance team involves supporting the governance and execution of the AFC/AML Compliance framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations for Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Proof of Funds / Wealth (PoF/W), Transaction Monitoring (TxM) alerts, and PEP/Sanctions screening.
- Prepare high-quality case documentation, including supporting evidence and AML Officer presentations.
- Make compliance decisions considering regulatory requirements and customer impact.
- Prepare and collect data for reporting requirements and deliver results for quarterly and annual AML reports.
- Collaborate with first-line teams and manage escalations effectively.
Requirements
- Relevant experience as an AML Officer or in a financial crime compliance role, ideally within crypto, fintech, or banking.
- Professional judgement and ability to document decisions clearly.
- ACAMS or similar qualification is desirable.
- Organised and comfortable in high regulatory standards and shift-based scheduling.
