Backend Engineer - Platform - Stacks | Ireland | Remote @Grafana Labs

Overview

Grafana Labs is the company behind Grafana Cloud, a fully managed observability platform trusted by over 10,000 organizations. This role of Backend Engineer is part of the Application Core Services group within the Platform department, focused on developing essential systems for Grafana's business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate reconciliation systems, including backend services to track desired stack states.
• Collaborate across services to ensure stack lifecycle workflows remain reliable and resilient.
• Improve operational efficiency and manage rollout mechanisms for provisioned plugins and configurations.
• Support new region and cluster rollouts and improve incident response and recovery paths.
• Contribute to roadmap planning and technical design while enhancing the production behavior of systems.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of fully remote work experience.
• Experience with a SaaS platform and familiarity with distributed systems concepts.
• Professional experience with Golang and willingness to work across both backend service and application code.
• Strong skills in writing clean, well-tested software.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and exposure to infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Helm and Terraform.
• Experience with incident response and contributing to post-incident reviews is a plus.
