Backend Engineer - Platform - Stacks | Spain | Remote @Grafana Labs

Overview

This role is for a Backend Engineer - Platform - Stacks at Grafana Labs, a company behind Grafana Cloud, offering a fully managed observability platform. The position focuses on maintaining and improving systems that support customer workflows and internal business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate reconciliation systems, including the SSS backend, to track desired stack state.
• Collaborate across SSS and deployment configurations to ensure reliable stack lifecycle workflows.
• Improve operational efficiency by reducing deployment complexity.
• Manage rollout mechanisms for provisioned plugins and stack-level configuration.
• Support new region and cluster rollouts, ensuring safe online stacks in new Grafana Cloud regions.
• Improve incident response for stack misalignment and configuration issues.
• Contribute to roadmap planning and technical designs.
• Help own the production behavior of the systems built and improve documentation and recovery procedures.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of fully remote work experience.
• Some experience on a SaaS platform and familiarity with distributed systems.
• Professional experience with Golang.
• Ability to write clean, well-tested software.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Experience with blameless incident response.
