Overview
The Blavatnik School of Government, in collaboration with the Centre for the Study of African Economies, is offering an opportunity for two Casual Research Associates to support research related to cash transfer programs and civic engagement in Kenya and Malawi.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting research through data collection, analysis, and literature reviews
- Conducting desk-based research using data from randomized controlled trials in Kenya and Malawi
- Assisting with the interpretation of findings related to cash transfer programs
- Collaborating with project partners and stakeholders during research activities
- Contributing to academic and policy-oriented outputs
Requirements
- A first degree in a relevant discipline
- Ability to conduct postgraduate-level research in fields such as economics, political science, or statistics
- Experience in data analysis using statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, or Python)
- Strong academic or policy writing skills
- Familiarity with development economics concepts and frameworks
- Desirable: Experience with survey tools, participation in large-scale data collection projects, interest in civic engagement, political economy, or cash transfer programs
