Bodhi Global Analysis has announced a major senior-level recruitment opportunity for a Head of Gender, Inclusion and Protection, offering experienced professionals the chance to lead a growing technical portfolio across gender equality, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), protection and inclusion.
A senior international development career opportunity has opened for an experienced gender, SGBV and protection specialist with a PhD, 10+ years of experience and professional fluency in a second language.
The position is a full-time role that can be offered through an employment contract or long-term consultancy agreement, depending on the candidate’s location. The successful applicant can be based flexibly in the UK, Europe, East Africa, Southern Africa, West Africa or South East Asia.
Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis, meaning interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
Bodhi Global Analysis is looking for a specialist capable of leading the organisation’s expanding Gender, Inclusion and Protection portfolio.
The successful candidate will not simply provide high-level advice. The role is designed as a hands-on senior position involving technical leadership, research design, fieldwork, report authorship, quality assurance, business development and team management.
The incoming Head will be expected to personally contribute to research and evaluation assignments, including work in fragile, conflict-affected and logistically challenging environments.
The role may involve:
The Gender, Inclusion and Protection team works across several technical areas, including:
The successful candidate will also provide technical support to Bodhi’s Conflict and Peacebuilding and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning teams.
The employer has set demanding requirements for the position. Three requirements are particularly important: a completed doctorate, a demonstrable SGBV specialism and a working second language.
Applicants must have:
The language requirement is a central part of the role. Bodhi works extensively across francophone and Arabic-speaking contexts, where conducting research directly in the respondent’s language can significantly strengthen the quality and depth of evidence collected.
Knowledge of French, Arabic, Portuguese or Spanish may therefore be particularly valuable depending on the candidate’s professional background and regional experience.
The successful candidate will take genuine ownership of a technical portfolio and have the opportunity to influence the direction and growth of the Gender, Inclusion and Protection team.
The organisation offers:
Candidates applying for the role will be asked to submit:
The cover letter should specifically address the applicant’s SGBV and protection experience, second-language proficiency, location and right to work.
Interested candidates should visit the official Bodhi Global Analysis careers page, select the Head of Gender, Inclusion and Protection vacancy and follow the application instructions.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so qualified professionals are encouraged to apply early rather than wait for a fixed closing date.
This is a senior opportunity for an experienced researcher and technical specialist seeking to influence the future of gender, inclusion and protection research across international development and humanitarian settings.
With a salary of up to £70,000 for UK-based candidates, flexible international locations, meaningful fieldwork and the opportunity to lead a growing technical portfolio, the role could attract significant interest from experienced professionals.
Candidates should carefully review the essential requirements before applying, particularly the requirements for a PhD, substantial SGBV expertise, 10 years of relevant experience and professional proficiency in a second language.
