Call for Applications African Economic Scholars Program 2026

The African Economic Scholars Program is now open for applications from outstanding final year students and recent graduates across Africa. This highly competitive program is designed to develop the next generation of policy makers by equipping participants with essential skills in research policy making and professional development.

The program runs for two months and provides intensive training focused on policy analysis research methods and personal growth. Participants will also have the opportunity to work on a capstone project and publish their research. Outstanding scholars may be selected for an additional two month internship with partner think tanks where they will gain practical experience in policy development advocacy and real world problem solving.

The program is open to candidates who have studied or are currently studying Economics Political Science International Relations or related disciplines. Applicants must be final year students or recent graduates from Nigeria Ghana Kenya or South Africa and must not have graduated before 2025. A strong academic record is required with a minimum of second class upper or first class degree. Candidates should also demonstrate a clear interest in policy research and development.

This program offers a unique opportunity to build capacity expand networks and gain hands on experience in shaping policy across Africa.
