    The III Generation of the Fellowship by Life of Pachamama is a fully funded fellowship designed to empower young leaders from the Global South to actively participate in climate governance and amplify marginalized voices in the lead-up to international negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

    The program combines virtual training, international advocacy, and local impact projects to build a generation of climate leaders equipped to drive change.

    Program Phases

    1. Training (May – June)

    • Comprehensive virtual training focused on climate justice, policy analysis, and strategic communication
    • Emphasis on the Global South context and participatory “learning by doing” methodology
    • Horizontal dialogue and peer-learning spaces

    2. International Advocacy (COP31 – Antalya, Turkey, Nov 9–20, 2026)

    • Participation in the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) under UNFCCC frameworks
    • Hands-on experience in negotiation, dialogue, and international coordination
    • Capacity-building for effective engagement in global climate governance

    3. Local Impact (Post-COP Phase)

    • Implementation of community-level projects based on skills and knowledge gained during the program
    • Focus on democratization of climate knowledge and participatory local initiatives

    What the Fellowship Offers

    • Full financing: Round-trip airfare, shared accommodation, daily stipend, and international health insurance
    • Expert guidance: Mentorship and technical support in climate policy and negotiations

    Eligibility

    • Ages 15–30
    • Nationals, residents, or migrants/refugees from Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Indonesia, Ghana, Gabon, Uganda, or Tanzania
    • Belonging to Indigenous, peasant, Afro-descendant, or rural communities, or victims of armed conflict
    • Experience or involvement in climate or socio-environmental action
    • Must speak Spanish or English

    Application Details

    • Application window: April 1 – 30, 2026
    • Process: Online form with ~30 questions (takes ~5 minutes to complete)
    • Cost: Fully funded; no registration or participation fees

    Key Notes

    • This is a fellowship, not a paid internship or job
    • Program language: English and Spanish
    • Open to first-time applicants as well as previous participants (depending on eligibility)
    • After COP31, fellows are expected to implement community-level actions
