Call for Applications: Youth for Peace and Climate Bootcamp
Young people across Nigeria and beyond are invited to apply for the Youth for Peace and Climate Bootcamp. It is scheduled to take place in Abuja, Nigeria from April 7 to April 9, 2026. The programme targets youth between the ages of 18 and 35 who are actively engaged in initiatives related to peacebuilding, climate action, governance, and youth development.
The bootcamp is organized by the Building Blocks for Peace Foundation in partnership with Champions of Peace Youth and Women Initiative and the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution. Additionally, the initiative is co funded by the AU EU Youth Lab programme. It aims to strengthen youth leadership and innovation at the intersection of climate resilience and peacebuilding.
Through interactive sessions, participants will gain practical knowledge and skills in climate sensitive peacebuilding, advocacy strategies, and community engagement. The programme will also provide training on conflict analysis related to climate change and negotiation and mediation techniques. Moreover, the training covers the socio economic implications of climate related challenges in communities.
The bootcamp seeks to empower young leaders with the tools, networks, and knowledge required to develop sustainable solutions to climate induced conflicts. As a result, these leaders will be able to contribute to peaceful and resilient communities.
