Applications are now open for the Climate Economics Journalism Fellowship 2026 at NYU Stern School of Business, a unique opportunity for journalists worldwide to deepen their understanding of the economic forces shaping climate change.

Eligibility

The fellowship welcomes applications from:

Reporters
Editors
Freelance journalists

Applicants should have an interest in covering the intersection of climate change and the global economy. Prior training in economics is not required.

Benefits

NYU Stern fully funds the fellowship program, providing:

$2,000 stipend for journalists residing outside the New York Metro Area to cover travel and accommodation.
$1,000 stipend for journalists residing within the New York Metro Area.
All program costs covered, including meals and event participation.
