This opportunity offers a Communications Officer position at the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), focused on translating research into impactful policy narratives across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate technical research into clear, engaging, non-technical content.
- Develop blogs, articles, policy briefs, web content, and social media posts.
- Create infographics, dashboards, and presentation materials.
- Produce short explainer videos and key messaging briefs.
- Ensure consistent storytelling around research impact.
- Manage website updates, newsletters, and social media platforms.
- Run digital campaigns aligned with policy priorities.
- Support communication for workshops, conferences, and policy dialogues.
- Coordinate media interviews and press briefings.
- Prepare reports on communication outputs and impact.
Eligibility
- A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience, preferably in multi-country or international projects.
- Proven ability to design and implement communication strategies.
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and content development skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools and multimedia production.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French or other African Union languages is a plus.
