    Applications are invited for the position of Consortium Cash Coordinator with Danish Refugee Council. The organization is a humanitarian, non governmental, and non profit institution founded in 1956. It operates in more than thirty countries, providing protection, assistance, and sustainable solutions to refugees, internally displaced persons, and vulnerable communities affected by conflict and disasters.

    The role is part of the Cash and Rapid Response Mechanism Consortium led by the Danish Refugee Council in collaboration with Solidarités International and IMPACT Initiatives. Several national partners are also part of the consortium. The consortium focuses on delivering life saving assistance to communities affected by conflict and climate related crises. Specifically, it operates in northeastern and northwestern regions of Nigeria.

    The programme uses Multi Purpose Cash Assistance to help vulnerable households meet their immediate basic needs. It also aims to improve food security and reduce negative coping mechanisms. In addition to cash assistance, the programme connects beneficiaries to complementary services such as protection, water and sanitation support, nutrition services, and health referrals. This ensures a comprehensive humanitarian response.

    The Consortium Cash Coordinator will provide overall technical leadership, coordination, and strategic guidance for the consortium’s cash assistance programming. The role includes overseeing programme design and supporting partner organizations. Ensuring quality implementation of cash and voucher assistance interventions is required. Additionally, promoting good practices aligned with market conditions and humanitarian standards is essential.

    The coordinator will lead the consortium’s technical working group on cash programming, and develop operational tools and standard operating procedures. The coordinator will also support programme monitoring and evaluation. Moreover, the coordinator will ensure that projects contribute to improved food security and resilience among affected populations. The position also requires regular field visits to programme areas in the northeast and northwest. These visits provide technical oversight, strengthen partner capacity, and ensure quality implementation.

    The role will also involve coordinating with donors, humanitarian partners, and sector working groups. This strengthens collaboration and ensures alignment with national humanitarian strategies and coordination mechanisms.

    Applicants should have at least seven years of experience working in cash and voucher assistance, livelihoods programming, economic recovery, or food security within complex humanitarian contexts. Candidates should also have at least five years of experience managing or designing cash based programmes. Preferably, this experience should be within multi partner consortium arrangements.

    A Master’s Degree in development studies, humanitarian affairs, social sciences, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree may also be considered if they have additional relevant humanitarian work experience. Strong analytical skills, programme design experience, and the ability to work effectively in high pressure humanitarian environments are essential.
