Job Overview
The Credit Assessment Officer will work within the Customer Finance Team to evaluate customer creditworthiness, support loan processes, and ensure responsible onboarding and monitoring of customers throughout the loan lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct KYC verification including customer identification and documentation
Assess loan eligibility by analyzing customer financial records such as bank or mobile money statements
Evaluate repayment capacity and determine credit risk levels
Communicate assessment outcomes to applicants and sales teams
Ensure all applications are processed within required timelines
Review existing customers and recommend credit limit upgrades where applicable
Educate customers on loan terms and repayment conditions
Support training of sales and field teams on credit policies and procedures
Handle customer queries and stakeholder communication
Perform other assigned duties

Qualifications

HND or Bachelor degree in Accounting Finance Economics or related field

Experience

Minimum of 2 years experience in credit assessment microfinance energy access or related sector

Skills

Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail and risk assessment ability
Ability to work independently and within a team
Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Customer focused mindset with commitment to financial inclusion
