Customer Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure @Astronomer

Overview

The Customer Reliability Engineer (CRE) at Astronomer is responsible for the success of customers utilizing the managed Airflow service, ensuring availability and reliability of the cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide solutions to customers to enhance their success with Astronomer products.
• Troubleshoot customer environments and actively engage in triaging.
• Participate in on-call rotation for weekend coverage.
• Provide feedback to product development teams regarding customer needs and pain points.
• Build and maintain monitoring and alerting systems.
• Automate daily operational tasks for efficiency.
• Direct the architecture of products and contribute when possible.
• Manage overall customer experience by prioritizing and resolving issues and ensuring SLAs.
• Enhance customer documentation.
• Work with multi-cloud implementations and latest technologies.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience with large, complex cloud infrastructures operating at scale.
• 3 years of experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience managing a production distributed system on one or more major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong Linux experience.
• Knowledge of operations and monitoring for distributed systems.
• Customer issue handling experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in DevOps or CI/CD.
• Python scripting skills.
• Good troubleshooting skills.

Benefits

The estimated total compensation ranges from $125,000 - $130,000, including equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
