Overview
The role involves joining Five9, a leading provider of cloud contact center software, as a Data Center Engineer, focusing on the design, installation, and optimization of the company's data center infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement new data center infrastructure, optimizing for performance and scalability.
- Build, manage, and maintain the company’s infrastructure in global data centers.
- Perform equipment installations including compute, network, storage, racks, and cabling.
- Monitor infrastructure to prevent failures and service degradation.
- Calculate power usage, power balancing, and power availability in cabinets.
- Collaborate with other engineers and IT professionals to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Provide technical direction to remote teams in data centers.
- Maintain asset inventory and perform shipping and receiving duties.
- Document data center configuration and maintenance tasks.
- Provide 24x7 support and participate in on-call rotation for incident response and reliability issues.
- Use command line interfaces and be comfortable with Linux and other CLI operating systems.
- Lifting up to 75 lb as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with data center technologies.
- Strong technical knowledge of networking, storage, virtualization, and project management.
- Experience in Linux/Unix system administration and troubleshooting.
- Ability to analyze and optimize performance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting a 24x7 customer-facing production environment.
- Coding skills for task automation.
- Experience working with vendors for procurement and support.

Location
This role is fully onsite in Atlanta, GA, requiring presence five days a week.
