Data Center Facilities Operations Lead @Gimlet Labs

Overview

Gimlet Labs is seeking a Data Center Facilities Operations Lead to manage the critical facilities operating model for its data centers and high-density AI infrastructure deployments. The role is focused on ensuring facility systems supporting Gimlet's compute capacity operate effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Build the facilities operations model for current and future Gimlet sites, including operating standards and maintenance routines.
• Translate OEM and engineering requirements into practical site operating envelopes.
• Monitor and respond to facility-side telemetry, including water temperatures and alarm systems.
• Collaborate with colocation providers, facility vendors, and internal teams to ensure facility readiness.
• Create and maintain operational procedures and responses for critical facilities and liquid cooling operations.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for facility infrastructure.
• Lead investigations for thermal, leak, power, and cooling events, driving corrective actions.
• Build reporting systems showing facility health and operational trends.

Requirements

• Experience in data center facilities operations or critical facilities engineering.
• Experience with liquid-cooled, high-density compute infrastructure.
• Familiarity with facility water systems and monitoring systems.
• Ability to create and execute operational procedures ensuring safety and reliability.
• Experience coordinating between various teams and vendors.
• Willingness to work in active data center environments.
• Strong candidates may have experience with GPU or rack-scale liquid-cooled infrastructure and power distribution systems.
