Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Digital Communications Consultant will play a central role in translating technical research into accessible, engaging communications products for a wide range of audiences.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Producing short- and long-form videos for digital platforms.
• Creating visual graphics and multimedia communication materials.
• Writing research summaries, articles, opinion pieces, and press releases.
• Developing media pitches and communication campaigns.
• Managing updates to the organization’s website and social media channels.
• Maintaining internal communication documents and digital resources.
• Supporting event planning and coordination.
• Assisting with virtual and in-person meetings.
• Managing stakeholder and media contact databases.
• Providing scheduling and administrative support to the Executive Director when required.

The consultant will also contribute to communication strategies that maximize the visibility and impact of DDIA’s research and public engagement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

DDIA is looking for candidates with a strong background in communications, journalism, policy, or related fields, along with experience creating engaging digital content.

Preferred qualifications include:

• At least three years of professional experience.
• An undergraduate degree or higher.
• Experience in journalism, communications, behavioral research, public policy, or politics.
• Knowledge of elections or democratic processes in the United States or Latin America.
• Strong social media content creation skills.
• Experience producing short-form videos for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X.
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
• Experience translating technical research into accessible public content.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience working in startup environments is considered an added advantage.
