Director, Enterprise Architecture, Automation and Integration @Fastly

Overview

Fastly is seeking a Director of Enterprise Architecture, Automation and Integration (EAAI) to join their IT Business Systems team. This role will report directly to the CIO and is focused on ensuring the cohesiveness, agility, and security of the enterprise application ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate with senior management to establish strategic plans and long-term technology roadmaps.
• Make final decisions on implementation and ensure operational effectiveness across the organization.
• Work on complex issues and translate business strategy into EAAI plans.
• Take accountability for EAAI function and departmental budgets.
• Engage with stakeholders and negotiate to drive enterprise-wide business results.
• Direct activities through lower management and lead teams in developing new integration methods.
• Establish governance policies, technical standards, and interoperability standards.
• Audit the corporate Business Systems ecosystem and optimize costs.
• Manage cross-functional data pipelines and enterprise API management.
• Drive automation of manual tasks through digital workers/bots and oversee AI initiatives in workflows.
• Conduct risk assessments on third-party AI systems with IT and InfoSec.
• Provide standardized frameworks and API connectors for AI agents in the Go-to-Market and Financial Systems teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Integrations, Automation, or Business Technology.
• 5+ years of experience managing technical teams.
• Track record of managing complex, cross-functional data integration pipelines.
• Strong understanding of application ecosystems including Salesforce and NetSuite.
• Deep experience in governance policies and compliance regulations.
• Outstanding communication skills with senior executives.
• Understanding of enterprise integration patterns and modern AI technologies.

Location

This position is available for Hybrid and Remote work. Preferred locations are San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; and New York, NY. Candidates within the US are considered for remote roles.
