Overview

The African Union (AU) is inviting applications for the position of Director of Human Resources Management. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources strategy, policy, and operations across the AU Commission.

Key Responsibilities

Leading and managing the Human Resources Directorate
Developing and implementing HR policies and frameworks
Advising senior leadership on strategic HR issues
Promoting organizational culture, inclusion, and change management
Overseeing HR budgeting, planning, and reporting
Ensuring alignment of HR activities with AU-wide strategic objectives

Requirements

Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, or related fields
Minimum 15 years of HR experience in a large organization, with 8 years at managerial level and 5 years at supervisory level
Experience in international organizations is an advantage
Professional HR certification from a recognized institution is mandatory
Project management certification is an added advantage
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Age limit: Not more than 55 years

Benefits

Salary: US$78,138 per annum (D1 Step 1), plus post adjustment (46%), housing allowance US$26,208, and education allowance up to US$10,000 per child per annum
Contract Duration: 3 years regular term, with the first 12 months as probationary, renewable for an additional two years based on performance
