Overview
The Director of Marketing Strategy at Dropbox will serve as the chief operating partner and strategic advisor to the Chief Marketing Officer. This role involves shaping strategic growth initiatives and managing operational infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Initiatives & Growth Partnerships
- Frame and analyze ambiguous strategic questions to support marketing decisions.
- Build quantitative models to justify major marketing investments and partnership evaluations.
- Partner with Business Development to evaluate and structure high-value alliances.
- Lead agile teams to prototype and pilot new commercial initiatives.
- Marketing Operations, Planning & Budget Governance
- Lead the annual and quarterly marketing planning cycle and establish measurable OKRs.
- Oversee the global marketing budget and ensure maximum ROI through effective capital allocation.
- Establish executive metrics frameworks to report on marketing performance.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of professional experience, including time at a top-tier management consulting firm or leading an in-house Strategy/Operations group.
- Proven hybrid B2B & B2C experience in evaluating strategic problems.
- Advanced financial modeling, corporate budgeting, and data analysis skills.
- Experience in building operational processes across large organizations.
- Superb narrative storytelling skills with the ability to communicate complex data clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; MBA from a top-tier business school is preferred.
Benefits
Compensation for this role varies based on US Zone:
- US Zone 2: $211,100 — $285,700 USD
- US Zone 3: $187,700 — $253,900 USD
