The Software Engineer II, Backend role focuses on systems that ensure accurate resolutions and communications after card transactions, working closely with various teams to support the growth of Affirm's offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Break down larger projects into tasks, delivering them in phases and collaborating on timely work completion.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Create and monitor metrics to support operations and availability, participate in on-call efforts.
• Engage in team growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process.

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience in designing, developing, and launching backend systems, proficient in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to take a solution from problem definition to implementation with clear, tested, and extensible code.
• Proficient in debugging and providing feedback through code reviews.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration in a global team.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
