Overview

The Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) invites applications for an Early Career Scientist (ECS) to join its Executive Committee for a two-year term.

Key Responsibilities

Organizing ECS-related activities at annual meetings
Delivering presentations to ECS audiences
Recommending best practices and initiatives for SCOR
Responding to emails, reviewing documents, and attending meetings (virtually or in person)

Requirements

No more than 10 years from PhD award, excluding family leave
Hold a professional position related to ocean science
Demonstrate good communication skills in English (spoken and written)
Candidates from developing countries are encouraged to apply
Candidates do not need to be from SCOR member countries

Benefits

Travel costs for meetings will be covered by SCOR.
