Overview
Médecins Sans Frontières Switzerland is seeking an Electrician for a six-month contract with the possibility of extension in Abuja, Nigeria. The role involves installation and maintenance of electrical, solar, and energy systems across MSF facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex electrical, solar, and energy system installation and maintenance across MSF facilities.
- Manage generator systems including sizing, installation, maintenance, and training staff.
- Install, operate, and maintain solar systems, including troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
- Maintain and label electrical distribution boards, and install/test grounding and earthing systems.
- Conduct regular electrical safety and performance tests.
- Carry out critical maintenance, repairs, and installations as required.
- Maintain accurate inventories of electrical installations and equipment.
- Manage stock of consumables, tools, and equipment.
- Keep work areas clean and maintain proper documentation of all maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Electrician diploma or recognized formal training.
- Minimum of two years of working experience as an electrician or solar system technician.
- Experience with solar systems, generators, power sizing tools, ATS, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in English.
- Strong hand working skills and familiarity with electrical system drawings and software.
