Overview

Médecins Sans Frontières Switzerland is seeking an Electrician for a six-month contract with the possibility of extension in Abuja, Nigeria. The role involves installation and maintenance of electrical, solar, and energy systems across MSF facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Perform complex electrical, solar, and energy system installation and maintenance across MSF facilities.
Manage generator systems including sizing, installation, maintenance, and training staff.
Install, operate, and maintain solar systems, including troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
Maintain and label electrical distribution boards, and install/test grounding and earthing systems.
Conduct regular electrical safety and performance tests.
Carry out critical maintenance, repairs, and installations as required.
Maintain accurate inventories of electrical installations and equipment.
Manage stock of consumables, tools, and equipment.
Keep work areas clean and maintain proper documentation of all maintenance activities.

Requirements

Electrician diploma or recognized formal training.
Minimum of two years of working experience as an electrician or solar system technician.
Experience with solar systems, generators, power sizing tools, ATS, and electrical troubleshooting.
Proficiency in English.
Strong hand working skills and familiarity with electrical system drawings and software.
