Engineering Manager, Object Storage @Render

Overview

The Engineering Manager for Object Storage at Render is responsible for leading a team of engineers to create and maintain an object storage product. This role requires strong technical leadership and collaboration with product teams to ensure high-quality and scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of object storage engineers, providing mentorship and clear technical guidance.
• Drive execution on product initiatives from ideation to launch, maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
• Partner closely with Product, Design, and Infra teams to develop technical solutions based on customer needs.
• Engage in technical discussions, guiding system design and architectural decisions.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
• Help the team break down complex problems and deliver incremental value.
• Ensure a strong understanding of the developer experience and customer impact of built features.
• Collaborate with product management and internal teams to align priorities and deliver impactful features.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience with a focus on product delivery.
• 2+ years of experience in managing people, including mentorship and performance management.
• Strong technical background in system design and architecture.
• Product-oriented mindset with skills in translating business goals into engineering roadmaps.
• Ability to balance urgency with quality in execution.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams.
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability for team outcomes.
