Forward Deployed Engineer @Luma

Overview

The Forward Deployed Engineer role at Luma involves embedding with customers to understand their workflows and build production systems using Luma's models and APIs. This position is ideal for those experienced in taking ownership of complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand their workflows, constraints, and goals, and define the problem.
• Build production systems on Luma's APIs, models, and internal tools.

• Own projects from inception to deployment.
• Identify platform gaps and provide feedback to R&D to improve products.
• Leverage AI to enhance implementation while maintaining engineering judgment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with end-to-end software shipped.
• Strong proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar).
• Ability to work across the stack and quickly learn new systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

• Experience shipping systems for real users, demonstrating high agency and prioritization.
• Comfort in defining your own path when necessary.
