Overview

Western Sydney University has opened applications for its competitive Research Scholarships for the Quarter 3 (Q3) 2026 intake, aimed at supporting domestic and international students pursuing a fully funded doctoral degree in Australia.

Eligibility

• New applicants for a doctoral program; OR
• Those who have commenced a doctoral program in 2026; OR
• Holders of an offer to begin in Q3 2026.

International applicants must have completed a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Master of Research (MRes) at Western Sydney University in 2025 or 2026.

• All applicants must be able to study full-time and be physically present in Australia at the start of the program.

Benefits

• Annual stipend: AUD $35,188 for up to three years
• Full tuition coverage under the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP)

• Relocation costs
• Other personal expenses
