The University of Bayreuth, through its Centre of International Excellence “Alexander von Humboldt,” has announced new 2026 funding opportunities aimed at strengthening global academic collaboration, research mobility, and international networking across disciplines.

Eligibility

Hold a fully completed PhD degree
Be affiliated with a recognized institution outside Germany
Present a high-quality, innovative research project
Demonstrate strong academic excellence and collaboration potential

Benefits

Short Term Grants Programme: Up to €3,500 per grant for short research visits (1-3 weeks)
Strategic Scientific Workshops Programme: Up to €20,000 per workshop for longer-term academic cooperation
