    Overview

    This position offers the opportunity to strengthen the quality of healthcare services in IRC-supported facilities in Borno State, Nigeria. The Health Officer will report to the Health Manager and support program implementation in fragile and conflict-affected communities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure provision of essential lifesaving health and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services across supported sites.
    • Supervise incentive health workers, community mobilizers, and frontline staff.
    • Conduct training sessions and provide on-the-job coaching for continuous medical education (CME).
    • Submit weekly and monthly reports, track program performance, and support data documentation with the M&E team.
    • Lead community engagement activities, including risk communication and community-based disease surveillance.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Nursing Science with valid practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
    • Experience supervising health staff at the primary healthcare level.
    • Strong experience in training, capacity building, and SRHR-related services (e.g., family planning, antenatal/postnatal care).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Able to work in challenging environments.
