Overview

Youth applications are now open for the 2026 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), taking place from July 7–15, 2026 at United Nations Headquarters in New York City. This opportunity allows young people to engage directly with global leaders and policymakers advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Eligibility

• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or individual with refugee status
• Reside in Canada for the duration of the programme and event
• Aged 18–30 years at the time of the event
• Demonstrate active engagement in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through community initiatives, academic research, advocacy work, entrepreneurship, or innovative projects
• Individuals temporarily in Canada (e.g., students or tourists on non-immigrant visas) are not eligible
• Applicants living outside Canada are not eligible
• If a U.S. visa is required, applicants must indicate this in their application
• Applicants are responsible for meeting all U.S. entry requirements
