The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading international humanitarian NGO supporting refugees and internally displaced persons across over 30 countries. DRC delivers life-saving assistance including shelter, food, protection, and livelihood support while ensuring accountability and operational excellence.

📌 Job Title: Information Management (IM) Specialist
📍 Location: Abuja, Nigeria
📄 Contract Type: National/Expatriate Contract
⏳ Contract Duration: 1 Year (Renewable based on funding)

🎯 JOB PURPOSE

The IM Specialist will lead the design and management of data systems to support DRC Nigeria programs. The role ensures high-quality data collection, analysis, reporting, and supports informed decision-making across humanitarian interventions.

📝 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and manage information management systems and databases
• Ensure data accuracy, security, and accessibility
• Design tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting
• Create dashboards and visualizations for program performance
• Support MEAL teams in monitoring and evaluation processes
• Train staff and partners on data systems and reporting tools
• Ensure compliance with data protection and GDPR standards
• Coordinate with stakeholders including NGOs, UN agencies, and government

🎓 QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, IT, or related field
• Master’s Degree is an added advantage
• Certification in programming languages is desirable

💼 EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in information management or database administration
• Strong knowledge of tools such as Excel, SQL, R, PowerBI, or similar
• Experience with data platforms (Kobo, ODK, SurveyCTO, CommCare, ActivityInfo)
• Knowledge of GIS and spatial analysis tools is an advantage
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work under pressure in complex environments

🌍 LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Knowledge of local languages (Hausa, Kanuri, etc.) is an added advantage
