The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has announced applications for the position of Information Management (IM) Specialist based in Abuja, Nigeria. The one-year renewable national contract offers an opportunity for experienced information management professionals to contribute to humanitarian programming in one of the world’s most complex displacement contexts.
The successful candidate will support DRC Nigeria’s programmes by designing, managing, and strengthening information management systems that enhance data collection, analysis, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making across humanitarian interventions.
Founded in 1956, the Danish Refugee Council is Denmark’s largest humanitarian non-governmental organisation. Operating in nearly 30 countries with more than 6,000 employees and thousands of volunteers, DRC works to protect refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and communities affected by displacement.
The organisation focuses on emergency response, protection, advocacy, and sustainable solutions while upholding its core values of humanity, respect, independence, neutrality, participation, honesty, and transparency.
Nigeria continues to face one of the world’s most severe humanitarian emergencies. According to DRC, prolonged conflict in the northeastern states of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe has displaced more than 2.3 million people, while insecurity in the northwest has forced an additional 1.3 million people from their homes.
Climate-related shocks, including prolonged droughts and erratic rainfall, continue to worsen food insecurity and displacement, with approximately 1.8 million children suffering from severe acute malnutrition.
Against this backdrop, DRC’s Nigeria programme delivers multi-sector humanitarian assistance focusing on:
The Information Management Specialist will play a central role in ensuring that programme data is accurate, accessible, secure, and effectively used to improve humanitarian programming.

The specialist will also provide technical leadership to improve organisational learning and accountability across DRC’s humanitarian operations.
