Information Security Engineer @Algolia

Overview

The role of Information Security Engineer at Algolia focuses on strengthening the company's Information Security posture as it continues to expand globally. The successful candidate will contribute to building secure and resilient infrastructure while ensuring trust and privacy in Algolia's operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and automate controls, detection mechanisms, and tooling to improve the Information Security of Algolia’s infrastructure and products.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new Information Security technologies, techniques, and frameworks.
• Implement and maintain information security monitoring and remediation systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate Information Security into new features and development pipelines.
• Conduct Information Security risk assessments and threat models of systems and third-party vendors.
• Participate in Information Security incident response activities and post-incident analysis.
• Support compliance initiatives such as SOC 2, Type II, ISO 27001, C5, and GDPR.
• Manage and enhance Algolia’s public bug bounty and vulnerability disclosure programs.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in Information Security engineering or related domains.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, Bash, Go, etc.).
• Strong understanding of Information Security principles for cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with log management, threat detection, and security systems, preferably with Crowdstrike or Obsidian.
• Knowledge of common internet Information Security threats and mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
