Overview

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime has announced an exciting consultancy opportunity for professionals interested in international policy, criminal justice, and intergovernmental affairs. This Inter-agency and Intergovernmental Consultant position is based in New York.

Key Responsibilities

Attend official and informal meetings of intergovernmental bodies and inter-agency mechanisms.
Draft detailed analytical reports on meetings held at UN Headquarters related to UNODC’s mandates.
Support the planning and organization of UNODC meetings and events.
Analyze reporting requirements for UNHQ events relevant to UNODC.
Develop a foresight model to anticipate reporting needs for intergovernmental engagements.
Revise reporting templates and improve mechanisms for sharing information.
Prepare comprehensive reports on intergovernmental and inter-agency discussions.

Requirements

An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Law, Social Sciences, Political Science, International Relations, Criminology, or a related field.
A bachelor’s degree combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted.
Experience with policy and legal frameworks related to drug control, crime prevention, and criminal justice.
Proven experience in drafting analytical reports.
Experience in intergovernmental meetings, including secretariat services and negotiations.
Fluency in English, with strong drafting and communication skills; knowledge of French or another UN language is an advantage.
