    Overview

    The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime has announced an exciting consultancy opportunity for professionals interested in international policy, criminal justice, and intergovernmental affairs. This Inter-agency and Intergovernmental Consultant position is based in New York.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Attend official and informal meetings of intergovernmental bodies and inter-agency mechanisms.
    • Draft detailed analytical reports on meetings held at UN Headquarters related to UNODC’s mandates.
    • Support the planning and organization of UNODC meetings and events.
    • Analyze reporting requirements for UNHQ events relevant to UNODC.
    • Develop a foresight model to anticipate reporting needs for intergovernmental engagements.
    • Revise reporting templates and improve mechanisms for sharing information.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports on intergovernmental and inter-agency discussions.

    Requirements

    • An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Law, Social Sciences, Political Science, International Relations, Criminology, or a related field.
    • A bachelor’s degree combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted.
    • Experience with policy and legal frameworks related to drug control, crime prevention, and criminal justice.
    • Proven experience in drafting analytical reports.
    • Experience in intergovernmental meetings, including secretariat services and negotiations.
    • Fluency in English, with strong drafting and communication skills; knowledge of French or another UN language is an advantage.

    Benefits
