Applications are invited for the position of Volunteer Social Media Officer at Healthy People International Foundation, a non governmental organization dedicated to promoting mental health awareness, education, and community support across Nigeria.

The organization is seeking passionate, creative, and motivated individuals who are interested in contributing to mental health advocacy while gaining practical experience in digital communications and online engagement.

This opportunity is open to applicants across the country, with ten volunteer positions available. Selected volunteers will support the organization’s communications efforts. They will help strengthen its online presence and engage audiences through digital storytelling, awareness campaigns, and mental health focused content.

The Volunteer Social Media Officer will assist in managing and updating the organization’s social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X. Responsibilities include creating and scheduling engaging posts related to mental health awareness. They also include designing simple graphics and promotional materials, editing short videos, and supporting the development and management of podcast content. In addition, volunteers will collaborate with the communications team to maintain consistent messaging. They will also help track social media engagement and audience interaction.

Applicants should demonstrate an interest in mental health advocacy and have basic knowledge of social media management and digital content creation. Creativity, reliability, and strong written communication skills in English are important for the role. While previous experience in social media management or content creation is an added advantage, it is not a strict requirement.

Selected volunteers will receive training, access to digital tools, and mentorship from the organization’s communications team. This experience will help participants build practical skills in social media management, digital storytelling, and multimedia content production. Volunteers who successfully complete the programme will also receive a certificate of service recognizing their contribution.
