Overview
Global Energy Monitor (GEM) is hiring for three key roles: Financial Controller, Grants Finance Manager, and Researcher, to support climate action through financial oversight and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close process and oversee financial statements.
- Maintain and improve financial systems, forecasts, and reports.
- Manage audits, internal controls, and compliance.
- Collaborate with staff to enhance financial processes and data management.
- Support cross-functional teams with ad hoc financial analysis.
- Build and manage grant budgets and expense tracking.
- Prepare financial reports for funders.
- Monitor grant spending and ensure compliance.
- Gather, validate, and maintain energy project data.
- Create and update online project pages.
Requirements
- Financial Controller: 8+ years of experience in nonprofit finance; CPA/CMA/MBA preferred; proficiency in QuickBooks, GAAP, Excel.
- Grants Finance Manager: Bachelor's degree; 3+ years of grant or nonprofit finance experience.
- Researcher: Minimum one year of experience in energy, environmental, or heavy industry research; strong research and analytical skills.
