Job Summary

ICLEI USA is seeking a Program Officer or Senior Program Officer, Sustainability (Climate Mitigation Focus) to help local governments plan and implement strategies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and advance climate action.

This fully remote position will support communities across the country through technical assistance, climate action planning, greenhouse gas inventories, emissions reduction analysis, and implementation of ClearPath 2.0, ICLEI USA’s climate action planning platform.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support to local governments in climate mitigation initiatives
Assist in developing and implementing greenhouse gas reduction strategies

Conduct greenhouse gas inventories and emissions analysis
Support the deployment of ICLEI USA’s climate action planning platform, ClearPath 2.0
Collaborate with communities to build sustainable and resilient futures

Qualifications and Skills

Experience working with local governments on sustainability and climate mitigation initiatives
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Passion for supporting community-driven climate action

Salary Range

Program Officer: $65,000–$72,000
Senior Program Officer: $72,000–$90,000
