Job Summary
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is seeking a highly experienced SR Manager for Natural Climate Solutions Accelerator Operations to lead and oversee the execution of its global carbon project portfolio.
This role involves strategic program management, portfolio oversight, data integration, and operational excellence within the Impact Finance & Markets Team.
The successful candidate will support innovative financing mechanisms, improve reporting systems, and ensure aligned, efficient project execution across diverse teams worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management and Oversight
- Maintain comprehensive oversight of TNC’s global carbon project portfolio, including progress, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Identify risks and opportunities, supporting timely, data-driven decision-making.
- Support continuous learning and strategic improvements based on portfolio insights.
Financial and Funding Mechanisms
- Support implementation of portfolio financing mechanisms, including the Bridge Facility and recoverable grants.
- Coordinate financial flows, project milestones, and reporting to ensure operational efficiency and accountability.
Data Integration and System Enhancement
- Integrate data from multiple sources to ensure consistency and accessibility.
- Lead the development and refinement of dashboards and semi-automated processes to enhance reporting and decision-making.
Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to project teams and leadership, providing guidance on project management practices.
- Promote operational excellence through governance and best practices in project execution.
- Manage budgets, supervise staff, and oversee professional development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate across regions and teams in a matrixed environment to ensure alignment and effective project delivery.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and data management solutions to improve workflows.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience managing complex projects, programs, or portfolios.
- Strong background in financial data management and innovative financing mechanisms.
- Proficiency with data tools, AI-enabled solutions, and project management software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading teams in a highly matrixed, global environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and influence diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred
- Experience in carbon markets, natural climate solutions, or conservation finance.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PMP).
- Multilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French).
- Familiarity with project incubation, early-stage ventures, or development pipelines.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary range for U.S. applicants: $95,000 – $125,000 annually, based on experience and location.
